Creating a World of progress with love for people and nature.
Indo China Food Industries, since its inception, has had a vision of creating a business that is meaningful and worthwhile not just to the company but also for the society and the environment around. Being aware of the importance of the need to protect nature, IFC aims to create and pursue a sustainable agricultural model by producing agricultural products without endangering the surrounding natural habitat. The company champions sustainability issues through a number of tangible initiatives in the communities in which it works.
The NIVL group in Vietnam has regularly funded community programs through local government initiatives on social development, rehabilitation of war widows and establishment of schools and hospitals. This has brought in a certain social stability around this region.
To promote the conservation of water , which is the need of the hour , the company's project in Cambodia has hundreds of large streams, on which the company has built many check dams for rain water harvesting. Rain water harvesting is a very useful and methodical way of recycling and reusing water for various purposes like irrigating lands, livestock, etc.
Natural resources are derived from the environment. Some of them are essential for our survival and it is our responsibility to protect these resources to maintain ecological balance and make the world a better place for our coming generations. In its endeavor to restore ecological balance and in order to counter the increasing demand for agricultural land, the company has created massive green belts around every factory, so that agricultural production, forests and factories can co-exist. The sugar plant in the Kratie town will reflect this very idea of a balanced ecology having thousands of well nurtured Coconut, Joss, Pink Guava and Mango trees.
Constructed NIVL Kumar School in Ben Luc District
NIVL believes that education lays a strong foundation for every society. It believes in empowering society with the right kind of education. And to do just that, NIVL donated $400,000 USD for construction of the NIVL Kumar School in Ben Luc District.
The newly constructed and inaugurated school aims to educate children of NIVL’s employees, and the children of locals serving the plant in different capabilities. The state-of-the-art school aims to provide quality education to children to make them responsible citizens geared to take on the future.
Apart from the school, NIVL has also contributed towards building low-cost housing for the locals. NIVL’s constructed dykes over the Vam Co Dong River have helped prevent crop-flooding, resulting in increased agricultural productivity.
Deer Park at NIVL Vietnam
NIVL has a strong commitment towards nature and environment. It believes in giving back to nature, as much as or more than it reaps from it. NIVL’s aim to create a synergy with nature has resulted in the creation of a Deer Park.
NIVL’s parent company Indo China Food Industries Pte. Ltd. stands by its vision – "To create a purposeful and sustainable business amidst empowered people, and lovingly nurtured flora and fauna". And with that very vision in sight, the Deer Park was created to preserve and conserve the precious ecosystem of the region.
The dream of the Deer Park was born as soon as the land that NIVL stands on was granted sometime in 1996. NIVL instantly pledged $25,000 USD for the creation and construction of the park. Today, the Deer Park is home to number of deers, along with a variety of species of birds and plants that are endemic to the region.
